1. Apply and get approved

Interested in writing for Suite101? Simply complete our application form, including two samples of your writing and some background information about yourself. Your application will be reviewed within 48 hours and you can expect to receive an email indicating your application approval or denial.

2. Agree to the writer's contract

Once approved, you will be asked to read and accept the terms of the writer’s contract. The contract covers three main points:

• Royalties: Our contract doesn’t outline specific percentages of royalties writers can earn from advertising associated with their articles. We do, however, provide statistics to view your earnings and assess which articles are most profitable.
• Digital Rights: Suite101 requires exclusive digital rights to any articles published for a period of one year from the first posting date. This policy keeps our articles fresh and original but it also ensures your articles are found by our readers. If a writer were to post the same article on multiple sites, it diminishes traffic to Suite101 and reduces your revenue potential. Remember: these are digital rights only. Our writers are welcome to publish their Suite101 articles in print.

After you’re approved, log in to the Suite101 website and get started – it’s that easy. Take a good look around; familiarize yourself with various tools and options.
